North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority

The North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) is the federally authorized Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for 7 million people in the 13-county northern New Jersey region, which has 384 of the state's 564 municipalities.

Public Outreach Support

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation

McCormick Taylor has collaborated with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the State Transportation Commission (STC) since 2012 to modernize their approach to the 12-Year Program (TYP) public outreach, which takes place every two years. McCormick Taylor developed a plan to harness new technology and innovation to provide a more convenient and accessible method to participate in transportation planning on a statewide basis.

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority

Through this on-call general planning consulting services contract, McCormick Taylor provides SEPTA with thought leadership and technical assistance on a variety of transit projects to advance the authority’s Strategic Plan: SEPTA Forward.

Chinatown Stitch Visioning

City of Philadelphia / Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation

McCormick Taylor helped the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation conduct a visioning and engineering feasibility study for the Chinatown Stitch, which reimagines the Vine Street corridor to improve neighborhood connections, create equitable mixed-use development opportunities, and inclusive mobility options.

I-695 at I-70 (Triple Bridges) Public Involvement

Maryland Department of Transportation | Maryland State Highway Administration

McCormick Taylor, under its statewide environmental and engineering services contract with MDOT SHA, provided extensive public involvement efforts to support the I-695 Interchange at I-70 (Triple Bridges) Project. Due to the complexity and impact of this project, early public involvement was pivotal in defining its parameters and ensuring community needs were addressed.

Transit Funding Advocacy Support

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority

In 2021, SEPTA’s Government Affairs Division was focused on three significant funding challenges: significantly decreased funding from Act 44, inadequate funding from Act 89, and the need for new legislation to allow county governments to generate revenue for local priorities including public transit. The goal was to work toward preserving Act 89 state capital investment levels, secure sustainable bondable state funding, and facilitate the passage of state legislation to allow county governments to generate revenues locally to invest in projects that drive local priorities (as part of a package benefiting other transportation modes).

Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission

As the primary consultant engineering design team on the PTC SR 130 Interchange Project, McCormick Taylor’s responsibilities include leading the preliminary and final engineering design of the new interchange facility and overseeing public involvement activities.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation

McCormick Taylor coordinated online access, informational outposts, collaborative partnerships, construction brochures, public contact tracker, and crisis communications for the 11-mile long Laurel Valley corridor in Westmoreland County, PA.

McCormick Taylor creates web, print, and training materials for the NJDOT Local Aid Resource Center, which helps NJDOT in providing technical assistance to municipalities.

I-70 Projects Website

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation

When Engineering District 12-0 of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT District 12) embarked on an aggressive $750 million regional effort to modernize 58 miles of Interstate-70 in Washington and Westmoreland Counties, Pennsylvania they tasked McCormick Taylor to design a corridor-specific website to keep the public abreast of the changes as they occur.

Communications Contract

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority

McCormick Taylor was one of two firms selected for SEPTA’s first on-call General Communications Consulting Services (GCC) contract. Through this on-call general communications consulting services contract, McCormick Taylor is delivering communications expertise that supports the agency’s mission and goals while providing support and design guidance, technical transit information design, ADA compliant materials, user journey mapping, peer reviews, best practices, graphic and website design, and photography and video support which offers communications expertise that aligns with the agency's mission and objectives.

National Workshop on e-Construction & Partnering

Federal Highway Administration

McCormick Taylor collaborated with the FHWA, PennDOT’s Highway Administration Deputate and Bureau of Innovations, and the PA State Transportation Innovation Council. The national workshop promoted information exchange among state DOTs regarding strategies, tools and technologies for transitioning to a paperless environment in project construction. Partnering content focused on relationship building and information sharing between project owners, contractors and sub-contractors, design consultants, material providers and other who have a vested interest in advancing projects, avoiding claims, providing a quality project at a fair price and profit in a safe environment.

US 501/US 221 Intersection Improvements Project

City of Lynchburg, Virginia

In the spring of 2025, the City of Lynchburg, Virginia was excited to announce the rejuvenation of its project to improve the intersection of US 501 (Lynchburg Expressway) and US 221 (Lakeside Drive), along with their selection of McCormick Taylor, to lead this high-profile highway improvement project that will result in the significant reduction of current traffic congestion, enhanced public safety, and the accommodation of future traffic growth due to ongoing development in the surrounding areas.
